What your photo says Español

Privacy · 100% in your browser

Your photo knows where you were.

Every photo on your phone can carry the place, the time and the device inside it. Check in 3 seconds, without uploading anything.

Reading the photo…
  • Nothing is uploaded
  • No accounts, no tracking
  • Try it: works in airplane mode

The map only loads if you ask for it. Your browser will request map pieces for that area from OpenFreeMap, so that server will know which area you are viewing. Your photo is not sent.

How to stop your photos oversharing

  1. iPhone, when sharing: in the share sheet, tap “Options” at the top and turn off “Location”.
  2. iPhone, for good: Settings › Privacy & Security › Location Services › Camera › Never.
  3. Android: in your Camera app settings, turn off “Save location” (the name varies by phone).
  4. Be careful sending photos as files or documents, by email or AirDrop: the location usually stays intact.

Why did I build this?

I make iPhone apps that keep everything on your device. While building them I realised how much a single photo gives away: where you were, when, and with which phone.

Almost nobody knows, so I built this site to let you see it for yourself in 3 seconds, without uploading anything anywhere.
